On Reflection

It's the end of 2007. Yes I know it's only October but my Tri/Du season is over. All the tri's are out of the way but my run form isn't good enough to target any duathlons. I may do a few du's as training races.

The highs:
Qualifying for GB
8th European Champs
4th National Rankings
7th National Champs
16th Ripon Olympic Triathlon
3rd Team Relay Aviva Ironman 70.3 Singapore
Mrs H still puts up with me

The lows:
Discovering that my foot injury maybe early wear and tear AKA “arthritis”.
Being nowhere near qualification for the GB team at the first qualification race at Clumber Park.

The stats:

Standard Duathlon: 02:03:09
Olympic Distance: 02:13 – Stockton Triathlon
5Km Run: 17:40 – John Carr 5Km series
10Km Run: 37:30 Abbey Dash Leeds

So what now:
Swim: Making serious inroads into my current 28 minutes 1500 meter time.

Bike: Tick over, enjoy riding. Have a brew

Run: Make up for lost time. Get the running form back on track. I have hardly run since the Euros. Get some 10 and 5K’s in.

Sounds like lots of swimming and some structured run training then.

2008 Targets:
World (du qualification) domination ........ maybe i'll settle for competing

Santa Dash: Leeds

On the start line with 120 other santas to do the Leeds Santa Dash. All proceeds to St Gemmas Hospice.

I liked the costume but thought the beard might actually be a merkin.

I think Santa won it.
